These Terms govern your use of bookascrubber.com and Scrubber’s related booking services. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information. You may browse without booking; to book, you must review the booking details and expressly accept the applicable terms at checkout. The booking summary and any specifically displayed cancellation rules become part of your booking contract.
1. Marketplace and parties
Scrubber provides a marketplace for customers (“Bookers”) to arrange cleaning with independent service providers (“Providers”). A Provider may be an individual cleaner (“Solo Cleaner”) or a cleaning business (“Cleaning Company”). A Cleaning Company’s employees or subcontractors who attend a job are “Provider Personnel.” The identified Provider supplies the cleaning service. Scrubber facilitates the booking, communications, payment, and support. The booking confirmation identifies the Provider and Scrubber’s role. Nothing here removes Scrubber’s own obligations under applicable law.
The Provider controls how it performs the agreed cleaning, subject to the agreed scope, reasonable customer requirements, safety, and law. Scrubber may administer bookings, investigate complaints, and enforce marketplace rules.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Provide accurate contact, property, and booking information; protect your account credentials; and promptly tell support about unauthorized use. We may limit an account for fraud, safety, material breach, or other reasonable marketplace protection, with notice where practicable. Account closure does not cancel an existing booking or erase records that we must retain.
3. Provider verification and safety
Scrubber uses Stripe Identity to verify the government ID of Solo Cleaners and the designated account holder or team lead of a Cleaning Company. Unless a particular booking expressly says otherwise, we do not independently verify the identity of every person a Cleaning Company sends. We do notcurrently conduct criminal background checks or verify Provider insurance or WorkSafeBC status. An identity check is not a guarantee of a person’s conduct, safety, skill, or reliability. A Cleaning Company is responsible for its personnel. You are responsible for exercising your own judgment when interacting with other users.
4. Booking and scope
Before you confirm a booking, we show the service and its inclusions and exclusions, the cleaning location, the scheduled date and arrival window, itemized amounts, applicable taxes, the total amount to be authorized, and when payment is taken. Review these details and correct any errors before pressing the final acceptance button. After you confirm, your booking summary is shown for you to save or print, remains available in your account, and is emailed to the address on your account.
A quote based on incorrect property details may require a revised scope or price. No extra work, fee, or charge is authorized unless the proposed change and new total are shown to you and you expressly approve them before the work or charge. If the parties cannot agree, the displayed cancellation policy and applicable law govern.
5. Payment, tips, and taxes
Stripe processes payments; Scrubber does not store full payment card numbers. At checkout we disclose whether your card will be authorized or charged, when any balance is collected, and the amount. We may charge only the disclosed price and separately approved changes or tips. Any tip you choose to add is intended for the attending Provider and is not included in Scrubber’s commission. Taxes are charged where legally applicable and shown in the booking summary.
6. Cancellation, access, complaints, and refunds
The specific cancellation window and fee (if any) displayed before acceptance and repeated in the booking summary apply to that booking. A missed access appointment is handled under those same disclosed terms. You can request a cancellation or report a quality issue at support@bookascrubber.com or through your account. Include the booking number and a description; photographs help but are not a condition for exercising statutory rights. We will review the issue and may arrange a re-clean, credit, or refund where appropriate. These policies do not restrict statutory cancellation, refund, chargeback, or other non-waivable consumer rights, and we will process statutory refunds within applicable legal deadlines.
7. Booker responsibilities
- Provide lawful property access and accurate information about pets, hazards, parking, and building requirements.
- Provide a reasonably safe work area and secure valuables, cash, and sensitive items.
- Do not ask a Provider to perform unsafe, unlawful, or excluded work.
- Treat workers respectfully, and use job photos, messages, or personal details about Providers only for the booking and lawful dispute resolution.
8. Content and reviews
Submit honest, lawful reviews and photos that you have the right to share, and avoid exposing other people’s personal information or access codes. You grant Scrubber a non-exclusive licence to store and display content as needed to operate the service; separate permission is required before we use identifiable home or person photos in advertising. We may remove content that breaches these rules or law, while retaining records reasonably needed for disputes and legal obligations.
9. Off-platform bookings
A Booker and Provider first introduced through Scrubber must not use the platform to arrange a booking and then move payment for that same booking off-platform to avoid the disclosed fee. The Provider agreement addresses later direct solicitation. This clause does not prohibit a pre-existing relationship or restrict rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Service availability and legal rights
We aim to provide a functional booking service but cannot promise uninterrupted access or that a Provider will accept every request. Providers are responsible for performing their agreed cleaning services. To the extent the law permits, Scrubber does not guarantee a Provider’s workmanship or conduct. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty, statutory right, remedy, or liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.
11. Liability
Scrubber remains responsible for its own obligations and conduct under applicable law. Subject to non-waivable rights, neither party is liable to the other for remote or unforeseeable business losses arising solely from platform use. A Provider’s responsibility for its cleaning work is addressed in the Provider agreement and the booking contract.
12. Changes and disputes
Changes to these Terms apply prospectively after publication and reasonable notice for material changes. The terms accepted when a booking was made continue to govern that booking unless the parties expressly agree to a lawful change. Please contact support first if a problem arises. British Columbia law governs, subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction that apply to a consumer. Nothing requires a consumer to give up access to a regulator or court available under law.
