Organization: Scrubber Ltd., doing business as Scrubber
Privacy Officer: Scrubber Privacy Officer
Contact: privacy@bookascrubber.com; 600 Drake Street, Vancouver, BC
We collect, use, and disclose personal information to operate Scrubber. This policy explains the purposes, recipients, storage, retention, and ways to contact us. British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) applies to our BC private-sector operations; federal privacy law (PIPEDA) may apply to some activity, including cross-border transactions. We request consent where required and do not treat mere use of a page as consent to unrelated purposes.
1. Information and purposes
- Accounts and contacts: name, email, phone, account type, and authentication data, to create and secure accounts and communicate about bookings.
- Identity checks: Solo Cleaners and designated company leads provide a government ID and a selfie to Stripe Identity. Stripe processes the documents; Scrubber receives a result and limited details needed for onboarding, safety, and fraud prevention. We do not intentionally store copies of raw ID images.
- Bookings: service address, unit and access details, property size and condition, pets, hazards, requested work, schedule, assigned Provider, messages, and transaction records, to arrange and document service and manage disputes. Provide only access information actually needed for the job.
- Payments: Stripe handles card and payout details. We hold limited amount, tax, transaction, refund, and payout records for operation, accounting, and legal compliance.
- Photos and reviews: job documentation and customer content for service records, quality review, and dispute resolution. Please do not photograph people, documents, or private possessions unless needed and authorized. Marketing use of identifiable images needs separate permission.
- Technical information: IP address, device and browser details, security logs, and cookies necessary for account access, troubleshooting, and fraud prevention.
2. Sharing and access
We share the minimum necessary booking details with the assigned Provider and, for company bookings, authorized Provider Personnel. Company leads must restrict crew access and use information only to complete the booking. Access codes are available only when operationally necessary and access must end after the job. Stripe handles payments and identity checks; Supabase provides database, authentication, and storage; Vercel hosts application functions. We may disclose information where law permits or requires, to investigate fraud or safety incidents, or in a lawful business transfer with suitable protection. We do not sell personal information.
3. Location and protection
Our primary database and file storage are hosted in Canada (Supabase, Canada Central region). Some service providers, such as Stripe and Vercel, may process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information in another country may be accessible under its laws. We use role-based access, encryption in transit, restricted access to sensitive instructions, and procedures for incidents. We require appropriate protection from service providers; no security system is absolute.
4. Retention
We retain information for the purpose for which it was collected and for reasonable legal and business needs, under an internal retention schedule that sets operational defaults. Access credentials are removed from active Provider view promptly after a job and deleted or de-identified after the stated dispute period, unless needed for a live claim or legal hold. We retain information used for a decision directly affecting a person for at least one year where BC PIPA requires it. Once retention is no longer justified, we delete or de-identify records and address backups under a documented schedule. Account deletion may leave financial and dispute records that must be retained.
5. Choices and rights
Contact privacy@bookascrubber.com to request access, correction, withdrawal of consent, or deletion where applicable, or to complain about our handling of information. We may need to verify your identity and may retain data where law permits or requires. Withdrawal can prevent us from providing a requested service; we will explain the consequences. The Privacy Officer handles complaints and requests within applicable legal periods. You may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC about BC PIPA issues and, where federal law applies, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
6. Changes and children
We do not knowingly offer accounts to people under 18. We will update the date above and notify affected users of material privacy changes as appropriate; new uses needing consent will be presented separately. This Policy works alongside our Terms of Service.
